Safety Crib Sheets

Babies need that extra protection and warmth. Also, as you would hear most parents complain, usually sleep eludes little babies and you most often end up with a colicky baby or a cranky one. However, at times, you will notice for yourself that babies seem to sleep better with a flannel blanket underneath. The concept of tucking the kid in a blanket might not work all the time, since being small, they tend to move around a lot and as such, the blanket most often than not gets all bunched up and crumpled and the baby tends to get more cranky due to the immense discomfort.

Thus, flannel crib sheets are a good alternative and are quite affordable too for kids. They are cool to sleep on and yet impart a feeling of warmth and hence, prove to be quite comfortable. They are usually of premium quality, are generally 100 percent cotton and these flannel sheets are available in adorable pre-assorted boy, girl, neutral colors and prints to match your nursery.

Crib sheets are generally fitted sheets and are fully elasticized for that perfect fit. They also sport finished edges for quality and long durability and the sizes are such that they allow for shrinkage and yet manage to hug and fit your child perfectly after every wash.

At times, the crib sheets are designed to be a toddler bed bottom safety sheet and usually fit the regular 52″ x 28″ crib and toddler bed mattresses. Some sheets will only fit a 5″ mattress but most do fit a 5″ or 6″ thickness. It encases the entire mattress and snaps close at one end, thus letting your baby sleep cozy and leaving snugly. The snap extends 2 inches past each of the corners on each side. This makes it easy for them to be put on and yet quite difficult for an infant or toddler to remove the piece of clothing. What’s more, some safety crib sheets can also be reversed for ultimate usage since it is made with a top piece and a bottom piece.

All flannel solids and prints are usually 100 percent cotton unless otherwise; also, all fleece solids are anti-pill 100 percent polyester and all knits are 100 percent cotton interlock. All are machine-washable, though only in warm water and can be tumble dried on medium. Some prints have same print bottoms and some have solid color bottoms, either in white, or in same color as background of print, or matching colors. This allows you to have two different sheets – one printed and one in solids. The solids are completely solid, top to bottom.

Some flannel safety crib sheets are actually two sheets in one – the mattress can be placed up for either side or the mattress can just be turned over and is extremely nice for those middle of the night crisis messes. They can also be custom made to fit any size mattress with any color or print. Some online shops that deal in flannel crib sheets also let you send them the mattress or the cot size and they customize and courier it out to you. If you have a older child, consider getting flannel sheets for the kids beds as well because you do want them to sleep tight at night too isn’t it?
